Hopefully this may open your mind a little and rekindle your desire to play the next game because to me these games are truely unique and give the players an experience that most other games wouldn't have. It's not always fun to play a game that gives the same ending with different lead-ups. I personally know that the story isn't shown well or focused much in the other games so I understand where you're coming from. However, we've already been shown in the trailers that this one will likely be more story focused and we'll hopefully get answers to the many questions the other games have left us with. If you still decide to not play We Were Here Forever, then that's your decision. This is also why some of the games end with one having to leave the other behind, because the Marionette forces that outcome to keep a prisoner. The puzzles for this room, and the ways in which they were broken, are as follows: Matching object placements: Her room contained objects to be placed, and my room was supposed to contain the already-placed versions that I would describe to her so that she could match their placement. The plot during the third game shows that the castle or more like the Marionette is seeking a soul to sacrifice which is why he's present in every game. They enter and by the time they get to the outside they still haven't found the missing person(s) and thus it's assumed that one of the characters decides to stay back (keeping their walkie talkies active) and the other leaves to find help. They too go to the castle and both enter with the thought of finding what we assume is their lost friend(s). The other two explorers look back to find a flare signaling help from the castle. In the second game, you see in the beginning that the four characters are braving a storm and two stray off to the castle. Something important to keep in mind is that each explorer wears different colors so each game might not focus on the same characters. In each game, there's a similar concept of an explorer being lost/left behind and other explorers trying to find them. I definitely understand that the story to these games is easily overlooked as it took me a couple playthroughs to really understand what was going on. The whole plotline to the games is the fact that explorers are going missing. However, there may be a part of the games that you're missing. If you don't enjoy the endings to the games, then to each their own.
